Brent Council Employee Volunteering Scheme


Volunteering Brent is supporting Brent Council to find staff opportunities to volunteer within the local community.

All sorts of roles are available, and you can split your three days of volunteering time!

Volunteer Academic Tutor

Meet with a student for one hour per week during term time. Prove academic tutorial in a subject they have studied themselve, wuth guidance from the student's teacher. You will be given support and guidance by The Access Project team and a designated University Access Officer (UAO).

Activity Facilitator – Equinox

A friendly and diverse group of people are looking for interesting activities and passions to learn about. Could you share yours? Gardening, painting, book club, photography, music: any hobby or interest will be considered, and you can facilitate the activity at any time that suits you. You’ll make a real difference to people living with mental health needs and get to promote your favourite pastime.

Edible Garden Project Support – Sufra NW

See the fruits of your labour by helping to set up an exciting food growing project with wide benefits. With your help, families in need will develop skills, gain practical employment training, and receive free healthy fruit and vegetables.

Dinner Supervisors – Ashford Place

Enjoy the hubbub and teamwork of events or mealtimes? Friendly volunteers are needed to support a daily lunch service by helping in the kitchen, preparing the dining room, and supporting / socialising with people during dinner. The role takes place from 12noon to 2.30pm every weekday – EVS time will need to be split over at least six sessions.

Exclusive to Brent Council staff:

Support small and essential organisations to continue by helping to recruit volunteers for them. You’ll receive training on volunteer recruitment – including the use of the Volunteer Connect database. Following the training, you’ll be able to support small voluntary organisations with the online advertising and recruitment of volunteers. District Secretary:

The Willesden District Scouts need someone to support the District Executive Committee meetings. The meetings take place six times a year and they need someone to support with minute taking.

When registering: 

  1. Please ensure you select 'Employee Scheme - Brent Council' option in the drop-down menu 
  2. You must also use your Brent Council e-mail address 
  3. Please use the Brent Civic Centre address and postcode
