Trustee with Brent Carers' Centre

Brent Carer's Centre are seeking to appoint new Trustees to fill current and forthcoming vacancies on the Board, who will add value and make a contribution to the overall direction of the organisation.

Trustees are responsible for the governance of the Centre, setting its strategic direction, monitoring its performance and prioritising its role and activities. As volunteers, Trustees receive no payment for their contribution to the Centre, but they can claim expenses.

Brent Carer's Centre are looking for people with Accountancy, Human Resources (Personnel), Law or Secretarial skills, or experience of caring for family or friends. The Board normally meets once a month, currently on Wednesday afternoons (though this might change with new membership). Additional commitment is optional.

Skills and qualifications:
Brent Carer's Centre are looking for people with Accountancy, Human Resources (Personnel), Law or
Secretarial skills, or experience of caring for family or friends. A new Treasurer would be articularly welcome, to oversee the work of their finance team. They welcome people from the widest possible diversity of background, culture and experience to help ensure that the Board is representative of the communities we serve.

Initial contact is with the Chair, who will answer any questions and arrange for the volunteer to meet some other Trustees informally. The new recruit is invited to attend 3 board meetings as a non-voter before being co-opted onto the Board and elected at the Board meetings as a non-voter before being co-opted onto the Board and elected at the next AGM. 2 character references and a CRB check will be made.
